The Northern Circuit Safari and Zanzibar
THE NORTHERN CIRCUIT SAFARI AND ZANZIBAR SUMMARY
This itinerary involves visiting the prime wildlife regions in Northern Tanzania. An excellent itinerary for seeing the Migration in the Northern Serengeti from July until October. Tarangire National Park and the Ngorongoro Crater are also well worth a visit and the itinerary ends with a relaxing beach stay on Zanzibar.
This excellent itinerary includes a private guide and vehicle for the duration of your safari.
Detailed itinerary
Days 1 – 2: Arusha
Days 2 – 4: Tarangire National Park
You will check out of Onsea House and you will be met by your private guide and you will depart in your private 4×4 safari vehicle to Tarangire National Park (approx. 2.5 hrs drive). On arrival at Tarangire national park you will proceed on to Oliver’s Camp.
2 Nights at Oliver’s Camp staying in a tented room on a full board basis including non premium drinks and including private game drives in Tarangire National Park.
Days 4 – 6: Ngorongoro Crater
After breakfast you set out for the Great Rift Valley and you will stop along the way for a game drive in Lake Manyara National park. After your game drive in Lake Manyara National Park you will continue on to a beautiful lodge located near the town of Karatu.
2 Nights at Plantation Lodge (Karatu) staying in a standard room on a full board basis including an excursion into the Ngorongoro Crater with your private guide and vehicle.
Days 6 – 8: Southern Serengeti
You will depart from Plantation Lodge with your private guide and you will drive through the Southern Serengeti heading North until you get to the beautiful Moru Kopjes region where you will find the lovely Dunia Camp.
2 Nights at Dunia Camp on a Full Board basis including non-premium drinks and private game drives in the Central/Southern Serengeti in this very wildlife rich region of the Serengeti.
Days 8 – 11: Northern Serengeti
You will depart from Dunia Camp with your private guide and head North where you should start to pick up last migratory herds. You will continue North until you reach Olakira Camp which has a fantastic location near the Mara river and which is perfectly located to see any river crossings.
3 Nights at Olakira Camp on a Full Board basis including non-premium drinks and private vehicle and guide to explore the Northern Serengeti National Park.
Days 11 – 16: Zanzibar
You will be transferred in the morning to the airstrip where you can connect with a flight to Zanzibar. On arrival in Zanzibar you will be met by an Africa Uncovered representative and transferred to Matemwe Bungalows on the North East coast of Zanzibar.
5 Nights at Matemwe Bungalows staying in a Bungalow on a Full Board Basis.
Day 16: Transfer Dar es Salaam Airport
