Motswari Game Lodge Summary
Open to the Kruger National Park and playing host to Africa’s Big Five is Motswari Private Game Reserve. The lodge is nestled within the Timbavati Nature Reserve, this family-owned and operated safari lodge prides itself on its warm atmosphere and luxurious accommodation.
The name Motswari means “to conserve and protect” in Tswana and the owners have held the name to be a promise to each of their future friends who arrive to share in the splendour of an African sunset at this vintage bush lodge. The 150 square kilometres that make up the reserve are part of the greater Kruger Park and guests will be treated to wildlife in their natural habitats as part of their unforgettable experience of Southern Africa.
Motswari Game Lodge Description
Motswari is exclusive in that there are never have more than 30 guests present at any one time, providing a more serene environment for our visitor’s African experience. With 15 luxury-appointed en-suite bungalows, each with air-conditioning, and all offering unrivalled bush views, guests enjoy a high level of comfort which complements our level of service excellence.
There are no spas or gyms at Motswari. This is an authentic safari lodge and the lounge and bar have perfect views onto the dam. There is also a swimming pool for cooling down during the hot summer afternoons. Meals are taken either at a scenic location out on the trail with one of the highly-trained guides or in the lounge and, depending on the season, evenings can be spent dining in the bush or inside the Boma, a traditional meeting-place. Meals are accompanied by an award-winning selection of Southern African wines.
ACTIVITIES & WILDLIFE
Motswari Game Lodge offers morning and afternoon game drives conducted in open Land Rovers and led by experienced guides. Motswari is located in a Big 5 region and seeing the Big 5 on a single game drives does happen from time to time. Guided walking safaris are also offered with one of their highly experienced and armed safari guides for those who wish to get the most from their safari experience.
