Mahale Mountains National Park is one of the most remote and most beautiful national parks in the whole of Africa. Situated in the remote West, Mahale Mountains National Park lies on the eastern shore of the great Lake Tanganyika. The forested slopes of the Mahale Mountains that rise up behind your camp are home to the world’s largest known population of chimpanzees.
At Mahale Mountains National Park the evergreen forested slopes plunge from the high mountain peaks to the shoreline of Lake Tanganyika, where perfect white sand beaches line the near perfect shoreline of this famous lake. The water of the lake is crystal clear and affords one the opportunity of undertaking a number of water based activities such as swimming, snorkelling, sailing and fishing.
