Serengeti Migration Camp Summary

Serengeti Migration Camp is hidden among the rocky outcrops or kopjes and exudes a decadence reminiscent of old Africa. Its spacious tents have been carefully placed to provide privacy and blend into nature’s architecture, overlooking the Grumeti River and its resident hippos.

What Africa Uncovered says…
Serengeti Migration Camp is a luxurious tented camp, perfectly positioned to see the Migration as they head up North past the Lobo region in the Northern Serengeti.

Serengeti Migration Camp Description

Richly furnished throughout, Serengeti Migration camp provides a haven of sumptuous indulgence as it offers the benefits of a lodge with such luxuries as swimming pool, restaurant and bar facilities, however, it still keeps its authentic bush atmosphere and sense of adventure that is only derived from sleeping under canvas. Surrounded by a 360 degree verandah deck and with a spacious, 45 square metre, internal floor space, each guest tent is a private sanctuary.

Serengeti Migration Camp consists of 20 luxury safari tents all with en-suite bathrooms and electricity is provided in the mornings and evenings by the camp’s generators. The split level lounge, cigar bar, restaurant, sundecks and swimming pool at Migration Camp are perched among the outcrops and overlook the vast and rugged landscapes that are home to the world’s greatest mammal migration.

There is a Honeymoon tent at Migration Camp set in an exclusive area and there is also an outdoor hot tub to relax in and sip champagne. There is also a family tent, which is made up of two normal tents, joined by a large shared bathroom, which can sleep a family of up to six people.

SERENGETI MIGRATION CAMP ACTIVITIES & WILDLIFE

There is good resident game throughout the year, especially lion, leopard and elephant not forgetting the lurking crocodile and hippo along the river close to the camp. However, it is during the Migration that the camp has become famous when up to 2 million wildebeest, zebra and gazelle make their way through their annual grazing pattern across the great plains. Walking Safaris which are generally not permitted in the Serengeti National Park are undertaken at Migration Camp in its private concession area around the lodge.
