Tafika Camp

Features & Highlights

Tafika Camp Summary

Tafika is nestled in the shade of huge leadwood trees with breathtaking views up and down the Luangwa River. The camp is located in the South Luangwa National Park just north of the game rich Nsefu Sector. Game drives though are also conducted in the Nsefu Sector of the park. Tafika Camp is renowned for amongst other things its warm and relaxed family atmosphere.

Tafika Camp Description

Tafika consists of 6 chalets, constructed entirely from local materials right down to the spacious three quarter size beds made of mopane and mapeti wood. The golden thatched chalets are all equipped with en-suite toilet and open air-shower, giving a whole new meaning to being under the stars! The small size of the camp guarantees maximum flexibility and personalised attention. It is remote with a friendly, relaxed atmosphere. Lighting and refrigeration are solar powered.

ACTIVITIES & WILDLIFE

During the dry season (June to October), safaris on foot or open vehicle are offered. The adventurous have the option of a microlight flight, soaring with the eagles! Safari bush walks are a speciality in this region and should be experienced by all guests staying at Tafika Camp. Morning and afternoon/evening game drives are also a highly rewarding experience.

The green season (December to April) at Tafika affords guests the opportunity of river safaris with boating, canoeing, exceptional bird watching and breath taking scenes of the Luangwa in full flood – an awesome blend of rich greens, lagoons filled with hippo and flooded channels overhung with groves of ebony trees.
