Zimbabwe is a safari paradise, with excellent concentrations of wildlife, and awe-inspiring attractions such as the Victoria Falls, one of the seven natural wonders of the world. Zimbabwe is a particularly good destination for walking and canoeing safaris.

The world famous Victoria Falls, known locally as ‘Mosi-oa-Tunya’ (‘The smoke that thunders’), is one of the seven natural wonders of the world and is a world heritage site. The views of the Victoria Falls from the Zimbabwean side are simply amazing. A Zimbabwe safari usually incorporates at least a couple of days exploring the Victoria Falls along with a safari in one of the country’s great wildlife parks. Zimbabwe also currently offers quite an exclusive safari as due to perceived political instability many tourists have avoided this wonderful country and those that have visited have been afforded a truly exceptional experience.

At Africa Uncovered we highly recommend a visit to Hwange National Park which is located in quite close proximity to the Victoria Falls. Hwange National Park is a massive expanse of wildlife rich land and a few nights on safari in this region is well worth it. For the more adventurous we recommend a visit to Mana Pools which is located along the mighty Zambezi River. Lake Kariba and in particular Bumi Hills is a great place to visit and offers a very different safari from the other wildlife regions.
